CARLO MAGNO'S TRANSFORMATION 2
For artists, the creative process never really ends, it is a continuous progression of personal artistic sensibilities; changing, shifting, transforming. Such is the case with Carlo Magno who, in coming out with his latest artistic advance, once again defies conventions and pre-conceptions of abstract art and even art in general. Daring to redefine boundaries between the real and the abstract, he ventures into a fusion of seemingly polar aesthetics, resulting in a distinct new artistic tone.
This is achieved only through constant development and experimentation, that eventually give birth to phenomenal discoveries. There is an unfathomable wellspring of creativity inside each individual, and what the artist merely does is find ways to tap into that creative source. It is the artists task to see the poignant in the subdued; or the remarkable in the lackluster.
Transformation 2 is as much an emotional expression as it is a creative one. Each artwork is itself its own statement, its own mood; and each artwork an antithesis to another. Collectively the exhibition is a celebration of expression in its truest form. With bold strokes alongside dulcet tones or striking colors with soft earthy textures, the contrasts alone are testament to the artist's diverse points of view.
Carlo Magno has made a tremendous leap from realism to the abstract and now in Transformation 2 he showcases a fusion of both. Featuring works such as the Forest Trails series which through bold strokes of cool dark tones accented by purples blues and hints of gold, remind one of walking through a quiet forest path with the wind rustling the leaves and golden sunlight filtering through the dappled greens. Or a lone violin, overshadowed by an abstract orb, seeming to tell the story of secret melodies played under the moonlight. Such dreamlike, nostalgic themes; reminiscent of the artists realistic period; but presented in an entirely different manner that cannot quite be described as just one thing in particular. It is a fusion of styles, influences and themes that take art on an entirely new level. |
